Roatan Beauty

I made these my first day here in Roatan.  They were inspired by a butterfly that I saw at Semuc Champey. It was dark sparkly blue with white dots on the tips of its wings.

This a view from the ferry leaving mainland Honduras for Roatan

Central American yarn

Lots of new feather earrings!! Thanks to...

The waura!  That is the name for this type of bird here.

Sparkly sand and pine needles.

Poodle Post!

Yeah, I just had to do it!  Here are some poodles on the rooftop of the place I stayed in Antigua.  I know it is gross but look there is a poop there!  Hahaha

Well-behaved apricot poodle in the streets of Antigua.

This is Sugarbear, of Roatan.  She is darling!!  I wish I could bathe her, she is so dirty!

My dear friend Nelson, from Tegucigalpa, having a little moment with Sugarbear. So cute!

And this is Foofoo, of Roatan.  He likes to swim.

Semuc Champey

Look at this water! Amazing!  Semuc Champey is Mayan for hidden water.  This a super sacred spot where the river flows underground and above it are limestone pools of turquoise water.  So great to have gone here.  Very natural spot.

View from the lookout point

Those little dots are people!

This is where the water comes back out from underground

These are awesome birds nests!

Lanquin Hat Party

Here is beautiful Melanie, from Canada, wearing her new headband, yeah blue dread!

Side view, nice.

And with the matching earring!

Johnny Depp with his new hat, didn't know he is actually Dutch!

My dear friend Nuria, from Spain, wearing a beautiful diadema, headband, that I crocheted with my Guate yarn.  She is an artesana too.  She is working on a bracelet  in this picture.

Weird arquitecture!

More Antigua!

Chris (of Missoula, MT) showed up again in Antigua!  This is our other friend Elliot(of New Zealand I believe).. and Barbara!

Here are my beauties!  Of course the reason that I came to Antigua!  I learned that they are called Mostacilla, in reference to mustard seeds I believe.  Now here in Roatan I saw a bag of sprinkles that was also called mostacilla.  Yummy sprinkles!  This should keep me busy.  They make me so happy!

My first creation

Roatan!

Well, here I am in Roatan, Honduras.  I love it here!  I still have so many good pics from Guatemala, but I will have to catch you up on that later because I haven't been able to upload them yet.  I have been in Roatan over a week now.  I am collecting alot of feathers from all the parrots that are kept at hotels and parks here.  This is me next to my little table across from the beach.  This goofy guy Randy snuck into the picture which was taken by Kate, a woman who bought a beautiful pair of red beaded flower earrings.  I like Randy's necklace which is a beaded Honduran flag.  I see them for all different flags.  I am wearing my jippy joppy seed jewelry that I made in Belize.  I actually was interviewed later on by the editor of Voice, a local magazine here, for a fashion column!  I'll post the link when it comes out.  I'm also wearing my watch which I got at the market in Antigua.  It is a kid's watch and it is so cute!  And I still love bandanas!
