New Works

I love these feathers that look like green beach grass seawead or pineneedles!
Below are the new ranch hats that I made.

My Pretties

The only new hat is the one pictured below. It is turquoise with fuzzy hot pink and pompoms on the ends of the ear ties. I absolutely love it!

Cape Cod Evening

Coozzyyyy....  I got these pretty colors at Ocean State Job Lot, a classic New England discount store.  They are Vana White's.  I know she had a big scandal involving sweat shops in Latin America where her clothing line was being made.  But, these were made in Turkey.

Here's my dad helping me thread the sewing machine.  It was my grandma's.

He's modeling a plain black hat.

This is the old machine.  I can't wait to post some pics of the pretty red skirt that I made and also the ranch hats that I made with the yarn.  Soon come.

Cape Cod Beauty

Today I went to Longnook beach in Truro with my dearest friends Ennie and Cedar.  Above is Zeppelin, their little dog as she goes flying up and down the dunes.  Love it!

Bikram Yoga Brewster

On Saturday I had the chance to set up my table at my friend Ann Marie's yoga studio.  I wish I had pictures because it is a beautiful space and her yoga students were awesome.   The handwarmers that Ann Marie got are super special too.  They are actually the same pair that Stacey custom ordered: elbow-length bright peach with white flowers.   I didn't actually get to do any yoga because I am so sore from ice-skating: first at the rink and then at Spectacle pond in Wellfleet!  Here is the info in case you are looking for some great yoga on Cape Cod:

Thank you again, Ann; keep up the good work and hope to see you more in the future!

Mom's Jewelry

Here are some necklaces that I made awhile ago for my mom.  The one above is made with shells from Vieques, PR and acai seeds and coconut from Brazil, on hemp.  The one below is made with shells that I found in Mulege, Baja California, and beads from Lake Atitlan, Guatemala.

High Tide at Paine's Creek

This is one of my favorite beaches on Cape Cod.  Isn't it beautiful?  The tide is rushing into the marsh.

It is so lovely here even in the freezing wintertime.  I am so thankful to have grown up here.  The Cape inspires many artists, like my dear friend Taylor Armour, who makes handmade organic clothing.  We used to take Fiber Art classes together at Cape Cod Community College.    Today I visited her eco-boutique/design studio.  It is called Fisherman's Daughter and it is behind the Post Office in Chatham.  Her website is: http://www.fishermansdaughtermarket.com/

Happy New Year from Hats and Friends!

Party Time!  Isha and I made these cool New Year's hats together at a party.  I love making all kinds of hats!!

Those are antique beanie babies in the background!  In the foreground, we have a blue and peach hat that is in the same style as my usual blue and hot pink hat.  I like the peach even better.  The other is also a new color combination in a classic style. Usually I make this hat in beige with orange, yellow, and green flowers.  Now it is available in turquoise, with orange, blue, and light blue flowers!
