Little Corn Beads

The hair clip I did not make- it is made by Huichol Indians in Mexico.  I am really looking forward to going there sometime to study the beading.  The hair clip is my friend Laetitia´s.

These ones are butterfly inspirations.

Finca Neblina del Bosque, Nicaragua

Now I paint murals!! This was probably only my second time doing a mural and it came out well.  Others firsts at the finca- using a bike to power a pump to bring up water from a well, lots of horse-backriding, motorcycle riding!

Birds, orchids and butterflies.  The turquoise bird is a beautiful motmot, but I couldn´t fit in its distinctive feathers that are really long.

Blue morpho butterfly with mangos

Toucan with plantains, mangos and toña, the national beer here.

Some students from a college in Washington who got earrings and the hat in the middle.
Those are cashew fruits in the center which I like alot.

Awesome Funky Hat

I met this girl from the states in Lago de Yojoa but I don´t remeber her name.  She was traveling with her dad who lives on Roatan.  She got this hat the same day I made it which was great because I was wondering if anyone was going to want this hat because it was a little crazy.  Great taste girl!  Cant get this at k mart!

Salamander Hat

This is Trujillo, Honduras, which I really liked.  This is a Garifuna canoe and that is a horse in the water.  I also saw cows and pigs on the beach here.  I ate a great fried fish with fried plantains, coconut rice and beans on the beach here and later enjoyed traditional drumming and dancing, called punta.  Walking around the town I stumbled into a yarn store with a great selection of colors and ended up getting more yarn!  Below are the colors I picked.

Here is how the hat came out.  I made it sitting by a waterfall.

Right after making the hat I found this little beauty in the same turquoise, gold and brown colors! Nice confirmation.

Utila Friends and Hats

Here is Viktoria Low of Humboldt, Co. CA wearing her dread hat in gray with maroon and orange fade.

This is me with Krista, of Canada who designed the one she is wearing which is dark purple with navy and gray stripe.

Krista got going making her own hat after we hit the yarn store together.  I made this other grey fade for Gabriela, of Switzerland, below.

Krista looking pretty with her finished hat!

Flip flops in Roatan

This salt container came from the Dominican Republic

This is a bottle of cleaner that has washed up from Medellin, Colombia.

Barettes I found

What I collected to make mobiles with.

This was the best find of all:  these are seeds called Corazon de Mono, or Monkeys Heart.  I cant wait to drill them and maybe even paint them, although they are so beautiful on their own.  Some are almost as big as my palm.  I especially like the really flat ones in good heart shapes.
